weekly suggestion: Make Plans And Decisions featuring Bilal

some tings need to be now or never (at least in theory...) instead of one day maybe who knows, because you can't just keep them as potential without wasting emotional energy. and time. maybe it's just me, how do I know, I don't know. I get involved.

it's hard, I hate wasted potential. I hate when awesome things don't happen, when awesome people don't connect or develop connections they make and take them to the next level, when talent wastes away. but I want to learn to let go, to, at least temporarily, give up and forget about potentially awesome nothappenings, potentially amazing people, connections, relationships.

of course deciding it's never, rather than someday doesn't actually mean never. I'll never say and mean never to something that's potentially good, just not happening.

deciding to go ahead with something can be a momentary thing also and you can go back to stalling or give up on it entirely anytime. it's not the worst that can happen. things going pearshaped teach you a lesson.

it's the non-decission, the limbo, the hanging potential that chips at the spirit. one wasted moment at a time.

anyways anyways. yo weekly suggestion is make decisions. have a  plan. go ahead with it
by no means stick to it religiously (which is extremism, isn't it? we don't like that) but have it. always. experiment with life actively every step of the way. shape it. in yo head is where it starts but probably shouldn't end.

when it comes to tings outside yourself though, I recommend being open to  - if not prepared for - whatever, forming strong impressions (fuck conclusions you don't need them) and always being ready to change yo mind. peace

weekly suggestion: get fresh air

be outside as much as you can, literally as much as you can. be on the move.

air your views whenever you get a chance. any time you sense fresh air, go for it.

[juju alert] everything is slowly falling back into place after this quite dramatic 3 months break that I would very much like to elaborate on tararam tatam ta ta ta. itsnevergonnawork. anyways anyways continuity is slowly being restored, tings are back on rotation.

I go get fresh air

on repeat: Stromae - Formidable (ceci n'est pas une leçon)

If you be walking down a (usually emptyish, sometimes I really don't give a damn) ldn street one of these days and hear someone wailing along this tune that probably be me... I am actively willing to learn (actively learning would be overstretching it a bit) how to sing. come back in a little while... or if you wanna teach me hang abOUT! anyways this song is particularly good for that. the emotion in the breaking voice makes it sound soo... musical. hehehe. I like when this happens. I still go back to all or most of the tunes that made me sing on top of my voice (and world) at one point on another. I still can't sing, though I am making slow progress. in the meantime dontchano. I've also been trying to learn French, sort of. in the meantime... and this is as lyrically perfect a tune for my level as I can think of. well done kido respect. your website is insane.

on repeat: Polar Bear - Be Free

sooooo good

on repeat: Kate Tempest - 'Lonely Daze'

Kate Tempest is one of the most inspiring poets I know of. the name fits for sho.

on repeat: Sumochief - Gator Season

have you listened to the new SumoChief track yet? do it. you have? do it again!

then make a note of the name Oscar Laurence and keep it close. you know how hard sold I am on guitarists right? well, I have a new favourite. but that's not all I have a new favourite vocalist also... that barely never ever happens. this guy can sING! saw him at Poejazzi the other night and man.. dude had my full wide-eyed attention. check him out like nowish.
also, Moses Boyd has started stalking me. I go to see Soweto he's there, Zara McFarlane, yep, mr Boyd, poejazzi, you name it. seriously though. man's happening. check him out like nowish.

like now:

Oscar Laurence on guitar & vocals, Moses Boyd on drums, Nick Ereaut on bass
and Theo Erskine on sax. yeah, it's jazz. but it's nice.
