other news: lots of good and great (mainly online duh again)
publications - there must be hundreds of thousands - are fine. and so is
the live scene trus me. and so are music outlets and even record sales.
independent artists, labels and promoters keep popping up like mushrooms
after rain..
music is having the time of its life. if you
are involved but not having it, can't see it and see only reasons to
whine and bemoan you are doing something wrong. change perspective.not saying it's an easy ride, it's not meant to be - follow
your vision, put your arse into it and everything else will take care of
itself. no it won't. you have to take care of every fucking thing or let other people help you. they are out there I promise go find them. there. yo weekly suggestion, been a while.

on repeat: Blue Daisy presents Dahlia Black - Fuck A Rap Song

been following Daisy for a while. I remember his debut album being described somewhere as disturbing yet highly enjoyable or something along these lines. I personally don't find dark disturbing - not a fan of major key nahmean. either way I enjoy it very much. brain music. my kinda dark. disturbs you or not it's an intense and emotional experience, deep and engaging. it's quite rare for me to like the sort of music that makes people use words like 'cinematic' and 'soundscapes', but that's I gues more to do with people than music.. anyways anyways
There's never really a grab for your attention in any of the tracks ... they're long and winding affairs that wait for you to come to them. As such, you might think of the album like an evolving filmstrip that changes with each frame and has new narrative details coming in at every turn, right up until the end. Each track tells a tale, basically. this is an excerpt from a review of a completely different album by a different artist (er..yeah..) but I find it perfect. it's an introspective album and it's a great pleasure to look into Daisy's mind, preferably while stoned as the sounds become almost tactile.

think I may have posted about this already but the album is out now so it's a good excuse to do it again. not that I needs one you knows what I thinks about repetition.
so ye, out on tru thoughts: Rotterdam orchestra's big grooves via the brilliant mind of Mareczek as the most dedicated fans of his I know call mr. de Clive-Lowe. if you like this sort of thing you will like it no doubt.
